Protecting the Environment AND Encouraging Growth

January 25, 2012 — Secretary Mike Krancer of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection will appear on Feb. 8 to discuss how the state agency can both protect the environment and encourage industry growth.

Until he was nominated by Gov. Tom Corbett to be Pennsylvania's acting secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection, Krancer was a judge on the Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board. The board is the statewide trial/appellate court for environmental cases which tries appeals from actions of the DEP.

Before becoming a judge, Krancer was a litigation partner at the Dilworth and Blank Rome law firms in Philadelphia. His practice involved complex commercial, white collar crime and environmental litigation. Krancer also served as assistant general counsel for the Exelon Corporation, where he provided legal counsel in the areas of environmental, health and safety compliance and litigation, and worked on energy policy matters with the company's government relations team.

Please join the Environmental Law Society, the American Constitutional Society, and the Student Bar Association Public Interest Liaison for this unique presentation at 4 pm in Room 140.
