Pennsylvania Voter ID Law

In order to vote on November 6, you must be in compliance with the Pennsylvania Voter ID Law.  Your Drexel Dragon Card is in compliance with the law as long as it has a current expiration date.  If your Dragon Card does not have an expiration date or if the expiration date has expired, please go to the Dragon Card Office in the Creese Center and they will provide you with a sticker for your Dragon Card at NO CHARGE.

Pennsylvania Voter ID Law

To be acceptable for voting, an ID issued by an accredited Pennsylvania public or private institution of higher learning must include: (1) the voter’s name, (2) a photograph of the voter, (3) the name of the institution, and (4) an expiration date that is current (in other words, the ID cannot have expired on the date the voter is casting his/her vote).

Important Policy Change!

For your own security, we will be more strictly enforcing the use of your Drexel email in any communication about your records. Examples are registration changes, transcript requests, and information about your grades. We ask that you initiate contact from your Drexel email, and all replies will be sent to your Drexel email.

FERPA (Records Release/Privacy)

The Law School has created a general release (Law School FERPA Release) that authorizes professors to share record information (gpa, class grade, etc.) in recommendations to potential employers the student has identified. Signed forms should be submitted to the Office of Student Affairs.  If you have any questions about the form, please feel free to contact Dean Oates or Prof. Coleman.

Lockers

DO NOT take lockers you haven’t been assigned to. New students received locker cards with a number – if you no longer have the card, please see OSA for your locker number. Continuing students must request a new locker in the Fall through OSA. We will cut the lock if a student reports the locker we have assigned to them has been taken by another student.

Summer Courses (outside EMSOL)

If you took any credits over the Summer that you are seeking to have transferred, be sure to have official transcripts sent to OSA, to the attention of Theresa Gallo.

Name Changes

If you’ve changed your name, make sure to let us know. You will still need to change your name officially with the University by bringing the appropriate documentation to the Student Resource Center, on the 2nd floor of Drexel’s Main Building.

December Graduation

Students who intend to graduate in December should apply for their degree through DrexelOne by Friday, September 14. Go to the Student Records section, click “More Bannerweb Student Records,” and then “Apply for Your Degree.”

Health Insurance

If you are not taking the Drexel Health Insurance Plan, don’t forget to waive out by AUGUST 30th (for new students) / SEPTEMBER 30th (for continuing students); otherwise you will be automatically enrolled and incur charges.  Additional student loans are available to cover health insurance costs.  See Mary de Rivera, the law school financial aid advisor for details. (Please note an error in the Welcome Back email that misstated the deadline for continuing students.)

Position Announcement: Dean’s Faculty Research Fellow

The Legal Research Center solicits applications from second and third year law students for the position of Dean’s Faculty Research Fellow to begin in September 2012 and continue through the end of the Spring Semester 2013.

The Dean’s Faculty Research Fellow, under the direction of the Research & Instructional Services librarians, works on research projects for law school faculty members and the Legal Research Center librarians. Past research projects have dealt with traditional legal research topics and various interdisciplinary subjects including business, education, and psychology. The successful candidate will have opportunities to work with faculty members, make full use of the library’s collection, and develop excellent research and writing skills.

The fellow works 10 hours per week. The fellow doesn’t work during reading, exam, or break periods.

We coordinate events that bring the students and faculty together to celebrate our rich heritage, including our Immigration Clinic at the Irish Immigration Center in Upper Darby. The Breho?ns provide networking opportunities with members of the larger Brehon Law Society of Philadelphia and our sister student societies at the other area law schools. Athletics and Beyond: A Conversation about Title IX

Tribute to INTERPOL's Noble - September 28-29

Suicide Prevention Walk
